The AB Sports Nutrition manufacturing site is one of a select few Sports Nutrition brands to have been certified as an Informed Manufacturer, which means the facility and our processes have been rigorously tested for the presence of a range of banned substances that appear on the WADA list. In order to gain this certification, a two stage process was undertaken.
Firstly, evidence of working practices had to be provided which meant giving LGC access to our SOP’s (standard operating procedures), HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) plan, process flow diagrams and our manufacturing records as well as an initial facility inspection.
This was followed by an inspection by an LGC representative who took twenty random swab tests throughout the site.
These samples were screened against 150 compounds taken from the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) prohibited list.
This process is repeated every six months in order for us to retain the certification.
This site accreditation is further complemented by a batch testing product regime whereby certain batches of finished product are tested for banned substances, and sold as a separate product line to professional athletes to provide them with confidence in specific products themselves.
